Note from owner: We have lived in this 700 year old home for almost ten years. It is the oldest house in Bewdley, circa 1320, and one of only two surviving cruck frame homes of its type in Worcestershire. It was concrete rendered around 1970, losing the beautiful look of the external beams. All internal beams were also painted black in the 70's too. We love this grand old lady and have spent a year doing our best making her look her best, within the confines of her grade two star listing. It's time to move on to pastures new, and she is currently for sale. The River Severn broke it's banks last year and gave us a wet floor. However, since then we have had an extraordinarily effective flood door fitted, developed by the Environment Agency with guidance from English Heritage. Boris Johnson visited our home last year and has now approved a new permanent flood defence for Bewdley, directly outside the house.
Riverview Cottage is a very special place, and will be an incredible family home for generations to come.
